this is my first time posting on a forum ever so please bear with me.

i've just got a slick new vaio sz381p. while it's very sexy and all, i have a couple of concerns, which may or may not be related:

    1) the plastic border around the perimeter of the screen is NOT flush with the lcd panel along the bottom where the vaio name is printed. is this normal or a manufacturing default (ahem, sony's fabled excellent build quality and $3000 bucks says the plastic at least should stick to the screen like any normal laptop) ?

    2) there seems to be about a millimeter of backlight spill stretching across the bottom of the lcd panel. i don't know if this has anything to do with the plastic border problem i mentioned above. perhaps. is this little strip of backlight pollution along the bottom normal?

thanks to anyone who takes the time to address this anxious first-time forum poster.
