my friend has got a vaio vgn-fs315m which was full of viruses, so we decided to do a fresh install of windows xp, everything went fine until it came to installing the drivers. i looked on the sony website and downloaded the correct drivers and burned them to a disk. However after extracting the files and looking at the readme file, it wasn't very helpfull. the only thing it said was if your installing the video drivers on a certain viao model you use folder video1 and if not folder video2 which is fine except it didnt say which viao model they were on about.

Also it didnt explain how to install the other drivers, i managed to get some of the drivers installed for him as some of the folders had exe programs inside them, but the others i'm unsure about and what order to install them in. ive re-installed windows xp on my home computer a few times but ive always had the driver disks and it was very simple to do and self explanatory.

any help would be greatly appreciated as i feel bad seeing as it was my idea to do a fresh install of windows xp

    thanks in advance, martin
