    Hi there people,

i have a 6 years old sony vaio laptop with non working backlighting, everything else working perfectly fine, windows loads e.t.c. if i apply some direct light like from flashlight, you can see screen is working, if i connect external monitor, everything works fine as well.

I have read couple of similar cases and people suggest that most likely it might be invertor or small switch that detects if lid is open/closed.

however i have discovered interesting thing, if i switch resolution of the screen, backlight switches on for a second and then switches off again, so i assume actual led lights are fine.

    any suggestions?
