vaio z13 screen gone crazy

HEY. I am now having yet another problem with this laptop.....

now the LCD is showing a white splash of jumble and I can't see behind it it's like a flickering. bad

and it is coming up from the time I turn on the laptop.
it worked fine for the half of the whole day...when i was in work and then i came home and docked it
but i unplug the hdmi cable, and then it switches to the LCD and then i notice the problem for the first time...

doesn't matter what resolution, refresh rate or gpu i select (intel, nvidia), same problem.

but when i dock i can see my screen ofcourse, is my LCD died now?

sorry i had flash on when recording but the flash is only the white circle spot reflection you see.

see what you're seeing there is the right side of the screen is white and can't see through that whiteness 95% and the left side is showing perfect.
what is going on with this now? :O

 

Oh man, i'm afraid the lcd is dead, happened to me few months back. i brought it to sony and they changed it for me. i had to pay though as i'm already out of warranty.

omg... how is it happening? how did you know did siny also confirm this? yoiu hand any water spill damage in your laptop life? it ever fall down?

 

Yup, they did tell me it was dead. not sure exactly how it happened but one thing is sure, never dropped the laptop and never spilled water. It just happened randomly when i was using the laptop. i brought it to other computer shop after sony but they all told me it was dead, so i brought it back to sony for replacement. And they gave me back the broken lcd too )

 

. well damn. now how expensive is that to buy otherwise? i dont have any warranty left, 1yr standard gone since 11 months ago.

 

Well the screen cost me 600SGD(singapore) which is about 495USD but that is the 1600 x 900 model. i don't know about the 1080p screen. and sony charged 150SGD for service. I'm not sure how much it would be in the US, assuming you are there, but it think here it's kind of expensive, though another repair shop told me it's because of the resolution that the screen is so expensive

 

today i opened the lid after having it docked and closed for like 48 hours, and i saw the screen showing good across the board, so i just walked off and was i came back in like 1 minute, it was doing the same thing again.

=(

 

i fell your pain man! it always settle for a while but the problem always comes back

Thanks. Well, with the price of the used model in that link, i might as well spend $320 and get a new one.... and full hd too, i currently have the 900p.

I'll buy it. Sadly, my trackpad is giving problems now, it doesn't register 98% of movement. im not going to open this thing again ..... it's docked most of the time anyways.

when i gather some $$$ ill replace the screen but that's the last thing im fixing on this...
