Sony is the only way to legally get a copy of the recovery disks. Anything else would be considered piracy since it is copyrighted software. And any discussion of piracy is not allowed on NBR.

Is your bios set to boot from CD?

Get disc with exactly same version of Windows, must match also the language version and use license which you find at the bottom of your notebook. Drivers and utilities you can find on Sony support.
I did it recently for gf`s SZ, she messed up the HDD incl. recovery partition and couldnt find the discs. There is nothing illegal about it ( I called Microsoft and they told me how to do it right- version and language match).
Edit: Read your post again, so you have the discs? I remember reading somewhere that FZ recovery wouldnt work with any other size of HDD - in mine it is 200G. I did changed twice , to 320 and 500 Gb but I cloned them with Acronis.
