Hello! I want to install windows xp professional on my vgn-ar320e laptop but i don't have the drivers for the sata controller so xp tells me that i don't have a hard-disk installed on my laptop. I haven't been able to find some drivers that would actually work so i really need your help. I tried some but the same error keeps popping out.

As far as I know the controller is Silicon Image Sil3132 SATALink Controller. And Sony only gives support for Win Vista so there aren't any drivers on the sony.com site.

I need the driver to work under Dos, as I plan to include the driver in an unattended Xp kit. The partition is formated (I don't have any OS installed right now)

If you know any driver that will work please send me a link where I can find it, or please send me a private message and I will send you my e-mail address.

    Thanks

    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...d-disk-drives-during-windows-xp-installation/

good information I used it with sucessful result however be warned I am still searching for drivers as I post this. I will update you when drivers are found.

Be certain to follow the steps precisely in the above link.

Do a back up of the computer prior to wiping the drive.

You will need to delete the vista recovery partition to load xp on the drive.
