    hello

i have a friend with both a vaio vgn-cr240e and a vaio vgn-cr390. unfortuantely for him his hard drive died on the 240e and of course he never made recovery disks. would it be possible to make recovery disks from the 390 to restore onto a new hard drive for the 240e? they seems to be very similar. since these are not my laptops im not familar with the hardware in them.

also....if this is possible...would it recreate the recovery partition onto the new drive?

    thanks

also are you saying i should image the 390 drive and restore it to a new drive for the 240e?

restore disc created at your friend laptop will not working at yours laptop

try create clone of HDD your friend by acronis true image and after put on your HDD

but I think best way is instal clear OS and installation separately drivers

you are absolutely right. i cannot restore from the recovery partition from an image of the second laptop. the o/s works ok though but i dont want the image of another used o/s on there. so....im just going to load from a disk a new o/s and hunt down all the drivers, something i probably should have done from the get go but i was being lazy.

    thanks again
