    vista 64-bit vaio FZ190?

    can i change my vaio FZ190 vista 32-bit to the 64-bit version?? is there any incompartibility with the notebook hardware??

    core2duo t7500 2.2ghz
    2gb ram ddr2 667
    160hd 5400
    nvidia 8400mGT

    You need to reinstall the OS to move to 64-bit. Make sure Sony has released 64-bit drivers, and that any peripherals (printers, scanners, etc) have 64-bit drivers available.

    Frankly, you don't need 64-bit unless you have 4GB of RAM or some enormous hard drive array.

    i have 4gb of ram and x64 seems to operate a little faster (just guessing for now. i'll benchmark later). however, sony doesn't have any 64 bit device drivers right now. none. so, i would wait 'til sony releases 64 bit drivers... and let's really hope that they do!

    since i'm dual-booting with x86, i'll keep my x64 (can you even return software?) and hope that they release the drivers soon... :rolleyes:
