    Hi,

i'm not sure where to post this thread, so i'll post it here

i basically have problem of vista seeing an xp computer. It intermittently sees the pc and then hours later disappears. I do know it is still actually connected since i made a shortcut link to the xp pc and i was able to access the shared files from my vista pc. on the help support page, it says it may take up to 15 mins to detect an xp pc from vista, but it actually takes hours, probably over night b4 it detects it again.

is there a fix to this?

I'm running a vista on TZ btw.

    thanks!

How about a firmware update for the router? Can you seen it in Network Neighborhood? You can just map a network drive.

Could it be interference from other networks?

you may need to install link layer topology responder on xp machine.i also tried to get this thing of vista and xp to talk with each other ,tried all ip configs manual and automatic but could not get it to work.
now my old pc does dual boot with vista ,so under vista on both systems.,it works like charm.
both systems are auto config of ip address, they are connected in less than a minute.
    hope this helps.
