Double click on the blue-green tray icon and you will see this window:

From there you can clearly see the option to enable or disable bluetooth.

Whoa! "Simultaneous use of 2.4 GHz WLAN and the Bluetooth device can affect connection stability" ?

    Has anyone experienced that?

I'm considering on buying a BT mouse, but if it's really going to affect my connection, then I'll go with a RF mouse.

Using Bluetooth and an external HDD with the TZ has shown a decent amount of slowing in transfer rates.

yeah.. I realized that.. I hardly use several functions that 'are' supposed to be useful..... OK, I've disabled lots of things using Device-Manager

    Bluetooth - disabled
    Flexi thing - disabled
    Memory Stick - disabled
    SD - disabled
    Ricoh 1394 - disabled
    Modem - disabled

I disabled those, because I have no such items to use with!.. hopefully it will save some battery life, and perform slightly faster..?
Im thinking that there must be some more devices that I could disable...

FingerTPM - enabled BIOS and SW for now, but thinking of disabling this......

Oh BTW, I find that TZ's WLAN switch (physical switch on the right side) both lights BT and WLAN regardless.
I thought Sony would be 'smart' enough to allocate two colors (and SW functions) separately..
But I guess they didn't because even when I completely disabled Bluetooth (from DeviceManager and Service), when WLAN switched, the BT logo still lights up!. heh...

With most of the other notebooks that I've used, they have had a "wireless switch". Obivously, it switched your wireless on. There was no separate button for WLAN and Bluetooth, but, if Bluetooth was disabled, the switch would only turn on WLAN.

davee, I dont think there are supposed to be a wireless icon. well.. vista would have automatically show the connection anyway..

BTW, question for TZ owners, Why does Bluetooth blue lights are ON (physically you can see on the right side) when I turned off blutooth permently and only enabled Wireless..??

I had a Dell laptop that also did this (Blue light on even when bluetooth completely disabled in windows). The only way it turned off is when I removed the little bluetooth module from the motherboard!
