This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    for all you guys who got a lappy with a microphone, you should try out vistas vvoice recognition software. works pretty well with me and its pretty easy and functional

    You can set it up in the control panel, I believe.

    It doesn't appreciate a strong Cork (Irish) accent.. I was shouting at it for about 5 minutes and all it managed to do was delete an Outlook contact. Not even remotely close to what I asked it to do.. More research perhaps ;-)

    I know youre not British, but you might try switching it from US english to UK english. Go to the speech recognition control panel tab and look for advanced settings somewhere around there.
