The fan on my laptop constantly runs even when the laptop has no programs open and is not working hard. It is not a loud noise but in a quiet room it is easy to hear and sometimes can get distracting. Does anyone else with the same model experience this? Is there something wrong with the laptop? It is only two months old.

Go to the control panel and go into the "VAIO Control Center" and look under the Power Management, then power options and see which is selected. There is one for performance and one called balanced... on performance it runs more to dissipate more heat, and balanced will focus more on being quiet. But I do recommend the performance mode if you play any games, it helps keep the video card cool. There was also a BIOS update for better system fan control... *BIOS HERE*
