I am about to upgrade my old vpceb1e0e with a new battery and SSD drive. I was holding out for a Fit 15 with Haswell but this didnt seem to happen??? So, I need some go faster stripes for the old machine. Ive just ordered a Samsung 840 SSD.

I have a couple of questions before I get started...

Should I do a re build on the hard drive before I upgrade to the new SSD (I think there are a few dodgy sectors on the existing disk)
Is there a way to easily remove all of the Sony bloat wear? I would prefer a plain vanilla install of Win 7 but will be using the existing patition.
    Should I even bother?

You should do a fresh install on new SSD, not on HDD.
I also just ordered 256GB SSD for my SVE14, but I picked Sandisk Ultra Plus over Samsung 480 for better writing speed even though it also has some bad reviews but still drops within 4.5 stars.
Most people got it dead after few days, so warranty will take care it.
