hi, there. after i booted up my sz650, i can hear there are some clicking sounds comes from it every 20 seconds or so. even when it's idle. i've disable the superfench but this sound still remained.
i've read somebody else's post, and it says this just the arm parking and accessing the platter. if so, does any know how to set the arm of this hard drive, therefore it will never parks. thanks.

The parking cannot be disabled, and should not be disabled. (it's an essential feature of how HDDs work and it is only controlled by the firmware; manual parking days were over a few years after I was born)

Many HDDs will "click" when they are working normally, some are louder than others (for instance Hitachi-s will be louder than Seagates). It's up to you to determine if the sound is abnormal or not. If you're worried, you can also download the HDD testing tool from the HDD manufacturer's website, and see what SMART says about the status of the HDD.

Regardless of the services I disable, I find that Windows still accesses the HDD once every few seconds. That's XP but I don't think Vista is different.
