I dont feel like I'm getting any more than 3.5 hrs in Stamina mode in a combination of letting it sit idle (with the display on), and actively using it with wireless active, and brightness @ 3-bars.
How about the rest of you? I have the SZ120 model.
Anyone think its the USB issue with the camera or something?
Its spec'd at 5.5hrs so I really expect at least 4-5 hrs. What gives??

I'm in stamina mode now with 4 bars brightness and windows says I have 4 hours 40 minutes to go. I booted 15 minutes ago.
-
sz110- Sitting idle with wifi on and max brightness (Stamina mode) I got under 3 hours. Very disappointing.
-
I'm noticing that the % of time remaing is changing a lot fast than the actual time remaining. I do have a USB mouse plugged in so this may be the infamous USB power drain at work. How an official fix for this isn't out yet is beyond me.
-
Booted 1 hour and 15 minutes ago into stamina mode and it shows 3:39/ 73% remaining.
-
Booted 2 hours ago. Says 2:12/ 54% remaining. (Stamina mode/ wireless on/ brightness 4 bars)
-
Booted 3 hours ago. Reads 1:06 / 26% remaining.
-
Booted 3 hours and 45 minutes ago. First low battery warning @ 26 minutes/ 10% remaining.
-
4 hours since boot. 14 minutes/ 5% remaing.
-
Hibernation 4 hours and 15 minutes after boot.
I was using an MS notebook laser mouse 6000 (USB) the entire time. First full discharge after purchase. Wireless on the whole time in stamina mode with screen brightness at 4 bars. Did quite a few game and program installs.
If there is anything to this USB/ Windows/ Core Duo power drain issue, this thing should clear 5 hours battery time doing routine stuff easy, once they issue a fix. -
Have any of you installed the registery fix for the known USB2.0 power drain problem? I am debating if I should install this fix.
Here is a link to the registry fix
http://it.slashdot.org/comments.pl?s...6&cid=14588517
Before I install it I was wondering if you have -and did it do anything for you? -
Ok - that link I just provided no longer works. Well either way I have read that Duo Core systems and Windows XP has a known battery drain problem when using USB 2.0. I think the camera uses USB 2.0 so this may be affecting battery life.
I have not been able to get a straight answer so I am still in limbo. -

So what this means is.. the 5.5 battery rating must be only when the laptop is on the lowest dim level, no wireless, no usb, screen saver on, etc, etc.. is that the standard way to represent battery life? I'm not surprised though.
But it must mean running on Speed mode, full brightness, etc yields like what 2hrs? Is that what we're seeing? Hmm.. not much better than my old laptop then.
I need to run some more tests I see. -
My battery life is dissapointing as well. My 110 is giving me 3-4 hours usually closer to 3 hrs. This is worse than my 2.5 year old emachines 5312 (new battery). Has anyone bought the extened life battery?
-
i wanna hear from people that got a 140 without the internal camera...who knows if microsoft knows what they're doing with their patches...since they didnt even realize the usb 2.0 problem at first
-
what battery life did you all get?
