what do you think of the build quality of the sz?

cmc i have that problem too. It is a design defect, mine just get scratched more and more not that i can really see it lol. That bar is really my only complaint

 

kyoshiro, do you think the scratches are getting more and more? i'm still observing if the scratches actually get more. i'll probably file a complain to sony if it does.

man!!! kyoshiro, i just started a new thread on these mysterious scratches. let's move..

 

mine are to the left and right. i'm not sure since i dont know where the ram goes if it could be from that. when i hold the crack up to the light it looks like almost anything that gets under the screen could cause it to scratch. it looks like there are a couple of clips also.. i still want to send it in and have them fix all the loose plastic but i think the consensus here is that they wont.

 

i agree with you that sony support probably doesn't give a dame on build/cosmetic issue. i hv the patterned scrtaches on both sides of the light bar too, but the right side has more scratches and they tend to be deeper. I will post a pic later.

how do you mean by "couple of clips"? it sounds scary!!!

 

These scratches are not easy to spot normally. They can be seen only under some reflections.

 

I suggest you all log a complaint with Sony. And share you reference numbers. If they claim its user damage you can then quote each others reference numbers, and ask them to explain how unreleated users could have caused the same damage in such an obscure place.

 

i dont know there is something between my screen and the bar in two places.
