    what does fixed hard drive mean?

    was wondering if i could pull the hard drive out of a pcg-nv170
    the specs say it has a fixed 30 gb hdd

    i want to put it in a vgn-n160g which has a sata hdd

    is this possible

    i believe fixed just means it's mounted inside the computer and not easily user replaceable. there are only so many standards of hard drives, and as long as both use sata, you should be able to do it. it's just getting to it that may be tricky depending on your level of expertise.
