It's not on sonystyle.com any more, and it doesn't seem to have been replaced with anything comparable, i.e. a thin-and-light with a 14.1 SXGA+ screen at only 4.7 pounds.
They still sell it at newegg, but it seems pretty pricey for a discontinued model.

I also liked the Z1-Series, it was cute. But the newer models are better, i think. The Z1 had either very very crappy 3D-Performance or a very crappy Battery-Life, i don't remember correctly. Maybe even both.
However, the Z-Series has just been replaced by the new B1-Series, basically the same design, same size, weight and display, just in black (which was a not-so-good idea imho) and with better components. It's not on sony.com yet, but some shops have it already: http://www.misco.co.uk/productinformation/99057/WW/Sony_B1VP_Cent_PM_725_1.6GHz_14.1__XGA_512MB_40GB_DVD+-RW_WLAN_bg_Intel_855GME_64MB_shared_64MB_XPP/ -
Qwerty,
Why do you post replies when you don't know what you are talking about. The z1 got replaced by the s-series now the sz series. They dropped the screen from 14 to 13.3. The z1 was a master piece. It had a look that was unique and productive. The cooling system allowed set the laptop on your lap with out burning your legs. I don't know why they stop using this stylish laptop and went with the more block looking ones but it is a shame. As for battery life and qraphic card. The sony z1 had are great battery life when it came out, and the graphic card was not the best but for a ultra-portable at that time it was the best. No other laptop on the market could compare to it in the ultra-portable sphere. Most ultra-portables had a intergrated but the z1 had a radeon moblity. That is that, i had to clear this up.
Thanks,
Brad
what happened to the Z1?
