I've always heard it being mentioned, but what exactly does Sony put into their laptops that's considered bloatware?

-
all the crap that comes wit the sony like trials ...etc
-
The list is endless.. Yahoo Messenger, MS Office Trial, a huge amount of DVD/Movie software then Sony's proprietary software like Sonicstage (music software), "Sony Vaio Zone" (digital media managment), just to name a few..

To me, any software that comes with the system and I have no use for is a bloatware and really every laptop has some. Sony has more than the others because their proprietary multimedia softwares are either pretty useless unless you have a room full of Sony electronics or just simply not as good as some other similar software out there.
On the other hand, I have been to some forums that the majority of people consider VAIO Zone a must-have software for a VAIO computer, too, so I don't think there will ever be a good definition of Sony bloatware. Just look at your laptop and see what you use and what you don't use. -
In a perfect world our Vaios would ship with recovery DVDs that gave us the option to rebuild with windows and drivers only, and other option to rebuild with windows, drivers, and the other crap.

Sony bloatware is defined as any useless (trial or free) software that comes pre-installed on a brand new VAIO computer. They are considered to be a waste of hard drive space and can simply be removed using the "Add/Remove programs" function in the Control Panel.
Bloatware includes, but not limited to:
-Spy Subtract
-Norton Antivirus Trial edition
-AOL internet
-Microsoft Office Trial
-Image Converter for PSP
-SonicStage
