The sz3xx series features the updated Core 2 Duo processor and the preconfigured models all come with 2 gigs of RAM. The sz340 is just like the sz240 in that you can customize the processor speed, hard drive size and amount of RAM.

They also come with the "hybrid graphics" setup which is just the ability to switch between a dedicated Gefore Go 7400 graphics card and the integrated Intel 950. I'm not sure if the previous models had this feature.

I'm typing this from an sz370.

i currently have an sz280p, so far i see all features the same, 2GB RAM, core duo 2GHz, fingerprint reader, ultrathin lcd...i can't seem to figure out what the 3xx series has that my 280 does not aside from the bump of processor for some 2.xxGHz compared to 2GHz......

VGNSZ-3xx have Core 2 Duo's vice Core Duo's. I think that most of the other stuff is the same aside from the availability of a PREMIUM Premium model called the P/X vice the P/C. I may be leaving off some minor things. However, much has been written and debated about this on the forum.

if you search the forums, you can probably find the answer to that question...

most of the replies say yes its technically possible but sony has yet to release a bios upgrade that will allow your SZ to accept core duo2.

the only thing i have read about the normal carbon fibre and the premium carbon fibre is that the premium has some fancy texture to it. either than that i dont think its any stronger or lighter.

the premium lid is thinner due to LED backlighting - and therefore a bit lighter
