    when does sony update its vaio sr line?

    Hey guys im thinking about getting a sony vaio sr for college...

    however i dont want to buy a laptop now and find out that a updated version of the sr rolled out few months after...

    so i was wondering when do sony update its vaio sr line...

    you know like adding a better graphics card, processor, more HDD, and etc...


    p.s. if you dont know at least tell me when sony vaio sr was updated in 2009....(i know it came out in 2008) thanks...

    There has been many refreshes since it was launched. The latest refresh was a 3 months ago. You may find Sony might refresh it again in conjunction with Windows 7 next month. No one knows at present.

    With the launch of Windows 7 there will probably be a revision, then the next big upgrade is in early 2010 with the launch of Intel's Arrandale processors.

    so there is no OFFICIAL date of revision...like the macs?

    ok..thats good...but they usually refresh it around june or july right?

    they usually refresh every 4-5 months, so i think thier might be one refresh around january or so then maybe around towards aug/sep? who knows :), but im know for sure that we wont have to wait till june/july for the next refresh, that would be too long! :D

    Edit: they usually do a refresh when there are big enough changes to be made, such as WIN7, CPU-new models, GPU higher model, screen quality, things like that then when they have refreshes then they add on other small things like maybe new colours, like they added chocolate brown colour for the FW recently and small things like WIFI card(maybe, sony seems to be stuck with Intel 5100 AGN on all models right now i think) things like that

    yeah...i mean its not that i need it in like next week...so i want to wait and get one...you know...i mean

    its just that i want to get the latest sr thats going to be the latest for a few months and get a good graphics card and everything...so...really dont know when i should get one?

    anyone know when they install the new intel i7 cpus in it? a least just a guess?

    i think they might be refreshing now or aticipating one...

    because at the sony vaio sr site, where you customize your laptop...it says that it cannot be ordered anymore...

    because they're letting the sr be phased out before they get the new refreshed ones in...
