    plan to install a win7 system from scratch due to windows update issue, may I know where to get all drivers and sony applications, utilities, also adobe product? my hard disk is dead and everything is gone.

    i've done this long time ago on a VGN CR so i think this it will work the same on the VGN Z. just follow what the user "bgd" says and i think you should be fine. Alternatively, there is this newer thread. it's the same process but i don't know if there are anything new as they use it on newer computer

    Get everything you need from the Sony support page for your model. If you can't find your model in the list, change your country selection to the country where you bought your VAIO.

    You can also search the sticky threads in this forum for an install guide for your model/series.

    learn something new, luckily windows update issue is solved, so do not need to reinstall from scratch.
