i'm in a dilemma right now in buying a laptop. the sony s series sounds really good, but the problems about the keyboard, drivers, and the fan makes me question my decision. my other choice is the Gateway 4525GZ which is just a basic laptop that's light. the price that i get from my student discount for the type s is 1679 for 1.5 ghz 512mb ram 60 gb hdd. the gateway is from bestbuy for 1399 for the same config as the type s. weight: 4.2 lbs for type s vs. 5.5 lbs for gateway. which would be the best overall pick?

ok sry if this duznt help much but i'll try...
if i were u, if ur gonna use studen discount, unless u hate dell, look at the inspiron 600m. its pretty much like the s series except 14 inch screen and the cheapest centrino dell has. But for what u want, its a tough chioce. Gateway, they look good and are (i no sum1 who has 1 for 2 years workin perfectly)but ive heard bad things bout them. Sony, i like their comps, but from time 2 time i hear people say Sony just isnt computers, things like that. But to be honest, i think i would go with the s series Sony, bcuz 1 thing its SONY, i mean the word SONY is pretty selfexplanatory. and also bcuz even though both of them barely make top 5 notebooks, sony is definetaly better than gateway.
which to buy
