hi, i'm thinking of buying a new laptop, and was quite interested in getting an S-Series vaio. could someone please tell me the difference between the S-3XP and the S-4XP (apart fromt he hardrive being slightly bigger on the 4XP). i think they might be called something different outside of the UK, so sorry to confuse.

i couldn't find much difference myself, and have found the 3XP for quite a bit cheaper than the 4XP ($400 dollars cheaper). is it worth going for the more expensive one, or the cheaper?

thanks a lot for your help.

it's definetely worth to wait for the s5xp or s5hp which both should pop-up within the next two or three weeks. The s5-series features a better cooling mechanism and so the fan is less noisier. Beside of that there is a better grafics card inside!

how expensive will it be? and is it possible to get them cheaper online?

also, do you know if it's possible to order from the US, as that would be far cheaper...

Well, if you are looking for a cheaper option you should go for either the S5HP or S5M. (1,86 or 1,73 GHz) - both will have more value per buck since you always pay a premium for top-models at Sony. As far as I know list prices for the S5-series in Germany will be 2.299 € / XP, 1.899 € / HP, 1.599 € / M. (XP and HP are black, M is silver). I wouldnt buy the US-version, since the warranty will be limited, keyboard and powerplug are different. By the way you would have to clear customs if you imported a notebook - at least officially.
