My guess is that they don't wish to put them time and effort into testing it. Yeah, it sucks :(

well, just run some test, cpu is supported, but sony didn't enable it in the motherboard, so still it's not supported. sucks! question is why they don't enable it??

Those who would use the virtualization technology are not the market segment Sony is aiming at.

are you sure that is the reason? cause they could just enable it in the bios so a larger market that will cover those who use the virtualization technology?
so why the hell they are so stupid not to do that?

They are already cutting themselves off at the knees on their B2B sales by not offering XP or business desktops. Most medium-to-large companies take a few years to go to a new OS and they typically buy their notebooks the same place they buy their desktops. So I don't expect Sony to understand the value of Virtualization technology.

The problem is that if they enable it in the bios, they have to actually test it to ensure there aren't any bugs. I don't think they're willing to do that.

As for market segment, the TZ and SZ series (possibly others) are aimed at business users, so I would guess a percentage of these users would use virtualization if it was available.
