Mine is dead flat, as were the ones I saw at the Sony store, MicroCenter and a couple of the big box stores. I am not saying your's isn't, but suggesting it is not widespread.

gary, do you think re-seating the keyboard will work? do you know if its easy? i think the step by step is in the owners manual, correct?

oh and, i contacted sony, they said its normal for the keyboard to have that :|

I don't have the manuals at hand. I have not taken any of my FZ apart, so I don't have a clue.

I believe you really only heard from the folks who's keyboards were not flat. This is a common phenomena on forums. Most times, only the folks who have an issue will respond (or even post in the first place). Even with a poll, you can't expect the results to be any REAL sample of the populace. As I said yesterday, mine's flat so were all the ones at the local Sony Store, the MicroCenter and a couple of big box outlets. But that is NOT a REAL sampling either.

Again, I am NOT suggesting yours is not flat, or that some other folks have the same problem. I am only taking exception with: "I brought it to everyones attention and most of theirs were not flat either."

I was at Office Depot and saw a FZ140 and by looking at the keyboard at eye level, I can tell it's not flat, but personally...I don't think it's that big of an issue, because the keyboard wasn't making a large wave or anything. I put my fingers on it and typed, it felt the same as typing on a flat keyboard.

Mine is ever so slightly raised around the S and D keys, but I would've never noticed if not for this forum.
