    why doesn't anything display fully on my widescreen??

    guyz ...i got fe 38gp ...i seem to have a problem when running any video related stuff( games included)......the display doesnt fit the full screen horizontally....there seems to be 1/2 an inch of black bars on either side when any video plays.....can any1 figure out whtz the problemo???

    btw.....fe38gp ROCKS!!.....waz launched end of last month..so no official reviews yet

    It depends upon the resolution of the video and the vidcard/drivers that you're using. For example, Nvidia offers a scaling option that is on by default in the control panel, it will stretch the image but maintains the original video ratio/resolution...if it's not a widescreen video than it won't play that way and you'll see the black on the sides. If you really want to see the image stretched wide you need to turn off scaling in your video card settings, but this will distort the video...kind of like watching a non-HD image on a widescreen tv, everything is widened.

    well i set my nvidia card to scale to the screen size..still no luck!!!

    k that helps me out a bit..but so few games with native widescreen support??...that makes me think whether a widescreen is of any use then...
    and what should i do for videos??...none fit the screen

    do you mean why is there a tiny black bar at the bottom of widescreen video?

    Check your video player for "keep aspect ratio". Make sure it's not checked/selected.

    video as in dvds n stuff..even they give vertical bars on either side of the screen

    I think its the video player problem.

    Try VideoLan or Window Media player classic. I really think its the "keep aspect ratio" problem.
