Will Vaio S380 with nVIDIA® GeForce® Go 6200 Graphics Card support Dell 2005FPW? Does anyone know? Check out the following link as a pointer:

Vulcan see my response in the "S380 is the best in the world" forum(NO IT IS NOT THE BEST IN THE WORLD see my posts in "OK I was wrong" forum) but your link does not not work and I do not know the answer to your question but really WANT to know! But see my further explanation in the above forum.

Have you found the answer to this question? Could Sony tell you?

I talked to over 6 reps, and Sony support sucks... They don't have the answer and they don't admit it either. They told me it only supports 13.3" WXGA as if that is my question. Anyway, I bought both s380 and the 2005fpw, will try and keep this list updated. (I'll have the answer by next month!)

    Vulcan-
My rep has elevated the question I have not heard back yet - I have the 360P and it for sure does NOT
But you may be on to something by just ordering- Sony does take things back
    with little hassle.
    Let us all know!

I got word back that YES the 380 (NOT THE 270 or 360) will support 1680 x 1050!
    Came straight from Sony

I finally recieved my 2005FPW and connected to my s380, and YES 1680x1050 is supported.

So I think s380 is a very good laptop to carry around and to hook up to a 20" wide screen lcd.

Fan noise doesn't bother me much yet but the adapter is huge to carry around.

Glad to hear that it worked out for you! I am driving the Sony 23" 1900 x 1200 with my S270 through the port replicator (DVI port) and it works flawlessly- just another reason to love the S!

I currently own both a 360 and a 2005fpw (as well as a 380 at one point) and can tell you that it most definitely DOES drive the monitor at it's highest resolution.

As a matter of fact, the 360 is able to run Half-Life 2 at the monitor's max res fairly smoothly with high details. Just another reason why I love this little guy!

    Hey there,

I am on the verge of buying a new Dell 24" 2405FPW for my S460 and actually plan on using it as a TV too. Im glad to hear the resolution on the NVIDIA will push 1900 x 1200, which is the native res. for that Dell.

My question is, how exactly do you guys go about pushing output to the LCD when you want to dock to the bigger monitor via the DVI port in the replicator. What setting do you use in the NVIDIA control Panel? Single, Dual, Clone? Multiple Monitor mode, etc, etc? Do you just change the resolution on the laptop and it automatically displays on the LCD?

Any and all info is truly appreciated!
    Thanks!
