will Z590CTO with premium lid come to canada any time soon?

Hi, sorry if this is in the wrong section of this forum, if it is.. please tell me where i should post this question.

I'm a Canadian and I'm thinking of buying a Z590cto. The whole time i was lurking on sonystyle.com and was captivated by the 50$ premium lid, which I know is absolutely useless.. but hey, if i'm going to be spending 2k+, i am willing to add that 50$ to make it a little more special however, it finally struck me that I'm in Canada and have to order from sonystyle.ca which lacks EVERYTHING.. there's no student discount, there's no dock gift, no rebate.. and worst of all, no premium lid!

because the us dollar has gone up recently by ~20%, meaning 1.2USD = 1CAD, if i pay in CAD, the laptop price goes up by a LOT so I'm hoping that the option will become available in Canada..

does anyone have any guess as to when this might happen? perhaps during the january 9th refresh? or should I just give up on the lid and get it now instead?

Dont get it now, wait for the Z6 to hit everywhere, if possible see if you can get a Z590 off Amazon.ca for cheap if you're willing to let go of prem. lid, basically it just means the fibers are showing in diff light angles - it does NOT increase durability or anything spectacular for that $50 lol

 

^ thanks for the response =] too bad it's not available on amazon.. or ebay.. it seems that nobody has vaios to sell in canada! there WAS a pretty good deal on a 2.56ghz 4gb 320gb on ebay but that's only for US again =((

any idea when Z6 is coming out? i keep hearing about "january 9th".. and do you think it'll be any different? or just a faster cpu and bigger harddrive?

 

I think the Z6 will probably be announced at CES 09 and avail mid Jan - by mid Feb. As this time, all we know is it has the nicer new P9600 2.6ghz and bigger HDD options + SSD RAID gbs increased

But this will substantially push prices of Z5xx down and should be good for those under a budget
