Isn't the battery in the SZ totally different from the ones in the Dell???
-
You know, just because Sony makes one series of batteries that require a recall doesn't mean that all Sony batteries are bad. If any other Sony-manufactured batteries need to be recalled, the other companies who are affected will issue recalls (I know Apple did a battery recall earlier for some MBP batteries, but I don't know who made them).
Just because you have a Sony-made battery doesn't mean you have to worry. -
I haven't heard of any problems with the MacBooks catching fire. There were some issues where some older PowerBooks had caught on fire (and these were from people who continued using faulty batteries after the recall). The MacBook Pro battery issue had to do with a "swelling battery" issue, which was something different. So that was the source of the MacBook Pro battery recall.
To date I don't think there have been any specific issues with the MacBook batteries.

Doesn't dell give sony the specs for their batteries and sony just makes them?
-
lol did sony make the dell batteries carelessly or is there a possiblity our sony batteries be recalled also.
-
Possibly, although either way, no-one is claiming there was a fault in the design or specs of the batteries; this was caused by a manufacturing defect while they were being put together.
will my notebook catch on fire?
