I dont know anything about the technical side of programs

I bought a Sony VGN laptop last night, it was a display and I got it home and had to reload the c drive to factory spec because the office depot didnt know the correct password

anyway I did that and Im trying to install my bitdefender security and for some reason it will start up and when I click the install button it will try to install and get caught up half way though saying this message:

Win32 cabinet self-extracting has stopped working

What does that mean, I didnt have any problems loading bitdefender on my HP laptop?

Also I noticed when I first started my Sony after putting back to factory specs it says something about adobe not working.

Is this a vista problem or a Sony problem?? If its a Sony issue Im taking it back today....

    any help would be appreciated!!

    Thanks!
