the whole problem with running Sony Vista driver packages (or any other manufacturer for that matter) in Windows 7 is getting around OS detection .... once you do that, the Vista drivers almost always work pefectly..... fortunately the VCCx Ricoh webcam drivers on Sony's site include both 32 and 64 drivers... so we are good to go:

1- download the Vista driver for your cam.... in this case the VCC6
    Sony eSupport - VGN-AR670 - Software Updates & Drivers

2- download and install a universal extractor to get the drivers extracted and circumvent OS and model detection... Universal Extractor works great... it installs a context menu and you right click on the driver package and extract to a subfolder just like a zip program... no brain required... if it asks you which method to use... just use the default... easy peasy
    Universal Extractor | LegRoom.net

3- navigate the extracted driver to find the install directory... usually \TEMPEXEFOLDER

4- there will be DPInst64 and DPInst32 ... right click and 'run as administrator' whichever one applies to your OS install.... blam done.... no prompts or nothing... but it is now installed... enjoy.

btw... great forum... figured I'd start to contribute....
