    I'm thinking about purchasing windows 7, do i need a clean install of windows vista to upgrade? and also do i need to get all the drivers ect like in the clean install of vista if i wish to upgrade? i have a vaio vgn-fw21L

    I always recommend a clean install.

    Upgrades just bring previous problems to your new operating system, not to mention it is a mashup of old and new software and drivers. Do a clean install and enjoy a nice fresh system, or update and run the risk of regretting it later.

    ok thanks mate, shall i clean install vista before clean installing windows 7 or will this sony version not matter if i clean install windows 7?
