Hi Guys, I did a search on the forum and could not find any answer to my question...I have two Monitors with two different resolutions :eek:ne is 24" 1920x1200 and the other is 20" FHD 1920x1080.

I am using the two on-board Video ports (I dont have the PMD) and I use two one HDMI and one DB15 so that I can use both ports of my Vaio Z. I can not get the dual-monitor work...I am wondering if this is due to the different resolutions when using the laptop in projector mode...

I can get the Vaio screen extended to each of those monitors separately, but i can not have those two monitors together...

Windows 7 can see the three monitors (laptop + 2 external) but can not have both external monitors ON and my laptop LCD screen OFF( or disconnected) at the same time...

Anyone knows how to resolve this issue? Is there any cable which can split the signal between the two monitors or if I get the same monitor twice, will this work?

    Thanks in advance.

    Probably not going to work
Multi-monitor support on the Z2 is dependent on the PMD. Without the PMD you have the same support as the Z1, you can drive the LCD and HDMI or the LCD and VGA.

The advertised ability to hook up three external monitors would be configured like this
Two monitors on the PMD: one VGA one HDMI
One monitor on the Z2: HDMI (I assume, but maybe you could use VGA instead)

Some fun settings that I noticed:
    Code:
    HKR,, DALRULE_NOCRTANDDFPACTIVESIMULTANEOUSLY, %REG_DWORD%, 1
    HKR,, DALRULE_NOCRTANDTVACTIVESIMULTANEOUSLY, %REG_DWORD%, 1
    HKR,, DALRULE_NOTVANDLCDONCRTC, %REG_DWORD%, 1
    HKR,, DALRULE_RESTRICTNONDDCCRTTO1024x768, %REG_DWORD%, 1

I have two monitors and this is consistant with my experience. You have to have a PMD to drive more than one external.
