Welcome!!
Have you ever thought to your self why has Vista rated me so low on the Windows Experience Index rating system?
Is your hardware "slow" (according to Vista) and wish to unlock more features in Vista such as the Aero?
This is a guide that shows you to light to either boost your rating or to just simply lift everything to the max and act like your pc ownzz!!
(My girlfriend is still confused, we have the exact same M1530s... Except her base score is a 5.2 and mines a 9.5)
1) Go to my SkyDrive and download the SystemPointsEditor:
2) Extract the .exe from the .zip file:
3) When you open the systempoint.exe file you should see this window:
**Note: Simply move the arrows up or down or type in the value you wish [Between 0 and 9.9].**
4) Hit "Accept Changes", sit back and enjoy
Here's a screenshot of my Windows Experience Index:
[Well I don't want to make it soo obvious that I've cheated]
Best of luck to you all and I hope this guide is of any use to you!!

Lol. I like Gregs solution more.
Good initiative, though! I never even thought to hack the WEI scores. -
I don't use Vista but if I did i'd definitely use this tweak. Great find!

I knew this forever ago, we had to use it when Vista was broken and giving a 1.0 score for high end systems and blocking the ability to play games that require a certain rating. Still nice to see a guide surface on how to do it and also backs up my opinion that WEI is totally pointless.
Also its quite obvious you cheated since the max normal score is 5.9.... my desktop maxes out 5.9 in every section. -
lol shhh my girlfriend doesn't know that
-
I like how your CPU score is lowest, yet it's somehow "bottlenecked" by your RAM score.
-
Pretty cool I guess. Is there any features you actually unlock above a low score of like 1-2, or is it pretty much useful on lower-end computers?
-
The application is cool, but people could see that you cheated... because the base score is determined by lowest subscore, and your lowest subscore is 9.0. So the base score should be 9.0 instead of 9.5.

This guide deserves a sticky

)
Lol @ ViciousXUSMC's 7.133 (Can you do 3 decimal places? I didn't know!!)
-
And who cares about hacking your WEI score? It's not like they mean anything -
i'm gonna have to go with greg's method
its quite easy -
