[GUIDE] Integrate software into your Windows installation CD

The addons are programs for your Windows installation.
Integrate them as hotfixes with nLite and they will be silently installed during Windows setup

What You Need:
- nLite
- .Net Framework 2.0
- Windows CD

Duration:
The whole procedure takes from 5 to 20 minutes (burning of the CD included).

How To Do It:
1. Copy the content of your Windows install CD to your hard drive.
2. Watch the video (~2 mins, 1MB), after that burn the created ISO either with Nero or with nLite's integrated burner.

Can this be used with Dell Recovery CD?? since it contains windows os?

 

Nice but many people experience problems when integrating drivers (especailly SATA drivers) with OEM Windows disks. There was another program, which seemed to run smoother than nlite...I can't remember it's name.

Anyways great guide. Wonder whether Nlite will support Vista?

 

@ zenecis - unfortunately I'm not sure. You can try in VMware and see if it works.

@ vassil_98 - no problem with drivers here, but my mini guide covers only the application addons integration part anyway.

Do you, by any chance, work for the nlite company?

Integration is pretty cool, but most aps are updated very frequently. I don't see the point in creating a cd, then a few months later when you format/reinstall, all the integrated applications are outdated and need to be reinstalled/removed/updated anyway. You may save a tiny bit of time, but still.

I guess it's just not for me!
Sounds like a good application though.

This is a cool idea.

 

If you want to integrate programs then it is easier to make an image of the hard drive after a clean install. That way you can tweak it to your liking & install anything you want. It cuts the installation process of Windows and everything down to 10 minutes.

I just started doing it after trying to find good ways to integrate but finding it wasn't perfect. This method is perfect .

I used a program called PartImage. Check out the first post on the fifth page here for instructions to use it:

a ghost image works best for me......and i always install new versions of the above apps to thanks for the guide......but no use for me

I am not getting one thing ? how can we intigrate any software with nlite ? suppose i have one software exe and key ? how can I intigrate those to nlite so it will install during os installation ?
