Guys, I'm nearing my limit here. My laptop is driving me nuts. Earlier today it would hang on startup. Right after you get that loading windows screen, everything would go black. The login screen would not come. So I reformatted, thinking whatever screwed it up would get fixed with a clean install of windows. I was wrong. I restarted my computer after it froze, and it was hanging in the same spot, after the windows loading screen.

I got around it however, I restarted, and I pushed F8, and then I choose an option that is something like "dont restart on failure" and after that, windows loads fine.

So since this problem happened twice, is it a hardware related problem? And if so, what could it be?

the laptop is a dell m1210. 2.0ghz, 1gb 667 ram, 7200rpm HD, 7400go... dont know what else is important to note, but I will be checking this often. PLEASE help. i'm really frustrated.
