How to burn files in to a DVD?
    I am using Vista 32bit.
I would like to burn files like documents, jpeg, pdf and many more(not mp3 or wma files) to a DVD.
I am a pure noob on this burning stuffs.
Any software suggestion? In addition, I need some guidance. Thanks.

Your Acer should have come with an application called NTI Media Maker preinstalled (although it may have been just a trial version, I don't know). NTI Media Maker 8 has the capability of burning CDs and DVDs, as described on the relevant product page. I would suggest that you consider starting with that (unless you have to pay some outrageous sum of money to get a functioning license for it) and that you read through the user manual carefully first.

It seems it is not a trial. Since no pop up message nagging me or stuffs.
Anyway, thanks for telling me about that(NTI).
I never thought NTI have this function. I thought it was something like bloatware.
    Interesting. THANKS!!

Use ImgBurn, it has a very handy file verification feature which will check the disk after it's finished burning to make sure none of the files on the disk were corrupted in the burn process. Other programs have this feature too, but ImgBurn is the only one I can think of right now that's free, there are others though.

True enough; however, in the OP's case, the NTI Media Maker is also effectively "free" since she already paid for it when she bought the computer as part of the embedded cost of the bundled software, so she might as well get the benefit of what she paid. It may also integrate a little better with the rest of the proprietary Acer stuff, which might make it a bit easier for a brand-new beginner to get the hang of it.

ImgBurn is easy enough to use, most bundled software sucks compared to what you can get for free on the internet. Backing up files to a disk is an important task and the OP should use a program that can verify their integrity after they've been burned to a disk. You don't need to quote and reply to a post I made and tell me that the proprietary software that came with the OP's Acer is enough, I can suggest whatever I want and the OP can pick which advise is best for their situation, I don't need your input.

You can also try being a little more pleasant, particularly on an otherwise pleasant Sunday evening.
