Hi, I can't install any nv drivers from lv2g... I tried the driver from compal, install fine but its a 157.xx so I'm not going to use that... I then tried the 174.74 but it stays in "installing driver components" for 2 seconds then goes straight to "Driver installed successfully"(my ass) when it has obviously not installed anything as when I restart I'm in 800x600 and my display properties says vga display adapter instead of 8600m gt...Urk. I tried the 174.93, does seem to install fine but the Nvidia control Panel is missing: it's not an advanced display properties nor in the right-click menu... Basically it has only installed the driver and not the complete package... This is frustrating me... Help.

On the LV2G site, download and run "Driver Cleaner Pro" in Safe Mode. When it's finished run the installer for the driver (make sure to copy the modified .inf file). Hopefully that will work for you.

Didn't change anything, I'm currently running the 174.93 but the nv control panel is still missing....

Yep for both the 174.74(installer installed nothing) and 174.93(nvcp missing)...

You tried installing the drivers in Windows Safe Mode as well? And no difference?

Does Compal's site have newer drivers? Maybe some of the LV2G drivers won't work with your setup.
