    Hi all,

I seem to have developped a little problem with my notebook (Samsung Q310).
Everytime I leave it for 3 minutes in batterymode, it turns off its screen.
Thats exactly what ive set it up to do, HOWEVER..
Nothing can reactivate the screen again without pressing the powerbutton to make it hybernate,
and then pushing again to take it out of hybernation.

It seems to keep happening after I upgraded my nvidia drivers to 185 from laptop2go.
Does anyone know why it does this, and how to fix it?

    Thanks,
    - Sven

:D Not trying to be smart, but it is obviously the issue of the new driver. Go back to the previous one is the sure bet.

    cheers ...

Well thats a bit of an easy solution is it? :p
Id much rather solve the wakeup problem and keep the preformance boost of the new driver. ;)
Especially because id have to skip back 2 versions since 180 simply didnt work at all.

Ouch. Have you checked out laptop2go forum for input? Someone else must have the same issue as you do with the new driver.

    cheers ...

Hmm, more people seem to be having this issue, apparently its better to roll back to 179.
Do you happen to know the proper steps for a rollback?

    Update
Ive done some more tests to see whats causing it, hence ive created my own power management profile in wich the machine should never sleep.
Still the screen shuts down after a few minutes, so it seems something else (drivers?) is controlling the powersavings mode.
Oddly enough it only goes to standby mode on its own when its on batterypower. When running on mains its perfectly fine.

Ive also timed howlong it takes for the screen to turn off, its exactly 1 minute after the last input.
It does this when on batterypower, no matter if I set powermanagement to powersaving or preformance.
This should mean something else, not vista, is messing with it?

Ive seen people mention "Powermiser" a couple of times while searching through google.
Could this be throwing spanners in the works from behind the scenes?

Rolling back to 179 doesnt stop the screen from turning off eighter =/

I need some serious help with this one.

    Update
Rolling back on a backup I made of a clean install made it work properly again.
Unfortunately now im running some acient 176.24 drivers..
Its the modded drivers from laptop2go that borked up my notebooks screen.
Anyone know a way to get my videodrivers jacked up without ruining my screens sleepsettings?
