Im not really talking about the windows as in fullscreen/restored, what I need to know how to do is get the size of the catagorys inside of a window to stay a certian size.
Example:
You open up a folder with music files in it, it should open in hte "detials" view as a default, and in that window is a catagory with the file name, the artist, the album, genre, ect...
The problem I have is that almost the entire right hand side of the screen is unused and the file names catagory is almost always too small to see the entire file.
You just use your mouse and drag it to a wider shape and you can see the file names, problem is every time you close the window and re-open it, you have to do it again.
You would think Vista could be smart enough to use up the unused space on screen and not hide file names.
So is there a way to optimize this, or make it remember my last setting?
edit: nvm I think I found the answer to my own question and just didnt bother to investigate enough.
You can right click the colum and select "size colom to fit" or you can go into other options and manually set a pixel width.
I still tho would prefer something like a % setting so that way when in a small window instead of a full screen it would work better between the two. The question is will those settings stick... or reset
