Hi everyone, I have updated my Asus N550JV to Windows 10 Pro, and after some time of normal functioning sleep mode stopped working.
Now whenever I put my notebook to sleep, it enters correctly in sleep mode.
However, if I wake it up (e.g. pushing a button) it turns itself on as if it was waking up from sleep, but then it starts fresh from BIOS, like I'd simply turn it on from off state.

I have tried pretty much anything I could think of:
    - Disable/enable Power Saving Mode in BIOS settings (not that I have any clue of what it does)
    - Disable/enable energy settings on PCI and USB settings
    - Update drivers to last versions
    - Disable/uninstall bluetooth and sd card components
    - Factory reset from windows options, deleting everything
    - powercfg -energy from administrator cmd (the report simply says that I have disabled ASMP PCI Express and USB selective suspensions)

    Did I miss anything?

...oh well, I forgot something: I have two drives: the main one, an SSD, and a secondary HDD put on a caddy in place of the dvd reader. Since that the latter has a partition containing the old recovery (because it was the main drive), could it create some absurd conflict? But I don't understand why when I update to Windows 10 everything worked just fine.

The only option left is to format it badly from USB, without giving it a chance :D Do you think it would work?

Go to control panel > power options > your power plan then go to advanced setting then under the sleep menu, disable hybrid sleep then do this for all the other plans then tell me if your problem is fixed

Oh yeah, I forgot mentioning that I entirely disabled hybrid sleep and hibernation, from cmd prompt.

    Hi,

I've solved this problem for myself on my N550JV!

One one of forums dedicated to some other notebook model, I saw someone said about re-flashing the same BIOS.

    So did I. It worked!

One thing is that you have to start WinFlash with a command line, so that it could accept an "older" (actually, same date) BIOS 208: "WinFlash.exe /nodate".

    This is it :)

    Enjoy!

Really? Sadly I've already sent it to the repair centre, given that I only had one month of warranty left. But if they don't solve the problem (like usually) I will try this method, thanks!

    Really-really :)
Remember that resetting BIOS settings to default doesn't help. Re-flashing does.
I've had this problem since some technical preview build of Win 10, and this morning flashing the BIOS made my day :)
Weird that I didn't have this issue on very early Win 10 preview builds. It started happening sometime in May...
PS: And yes, my notebook model is N550JV. I've made some changes to hardware config like I replaced the HDD with a hybrid disk and replaces the WiFi adapter for a 2.4/5 GHz AC-compatible Intel 7260 adapter.

    Easy.
Download the latest BIOS (208) and the Winflash utility from ASUS.
Start the utility, but from the command line: "WinFlash.exe /nodate".
    Flash the BIOS.
    Restart.
    You're good to go.

Thank you for being so fast!
I've done exactly what you said and it worked!!!
I can't say how much I want to thank you!!!
Now let's hope that the problem is fixed once for all, I'm afraid that it will return after the warranty expires...
