32bit is better? or 64bit?
running windows 7 pro 64bit.![]()

irrelevant. the os and program -bit do not have to match.
-
64-bit should be slightly more processor-efficient. (Although I don't know how noticeable this will be.) 32-bit is provided in case you have any 32-bit-only plugins that you want to use.
-
Aye. Use 64bit every chance you get. It'll be faster. The ONLY reason to use 32bit anything is for compatibility or if there is no 64bit version.
-
By default WMP starts in 32-bit. Make sure you create a shorcut for 64-bit WMP found in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe.

What exactly is the discernible benefit of a "faster" media player? It either plays one second per second, has synced audio and plays/pauses on demand, or it does not. I stand by my "irrelevant" judgment for this particular program. If you're using sync/burn functionality, there still isn't a benefit. If you're ripping, then perhaps you might encode faster, but that's about it,

only use a 32 bit anything if your computer is older or has less then 3Gb of ram.
