    [windows media player] 32bit or 64bit?

    32bit is better? or 64bit?

    running windows 7 pro 64bit. :confused:

    irrelevant. the os and program -bit do not have to match.

    64-bit should be slightly more processor-efficient. (Although I don't know how noticeable this will be.) 32-bit is provided in case you have any 32-bit-only plugins that you want to use.

    Aye. Use 64bit every chance you get. It'll be faster. The ONLY reason to use 32bit anything is for compatibility or if there is no 64bit version.

    By default WMP starts in 32-bit. Make sure you create a shorcut for 64-bit WMP found in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe.

    What exactly is the discernible benefit of a "faster" media player? It either plays one second per second, has synced audio and plays/pauses on demand, or it does not. I stand by my "irrelevant" judgment for this particular program. If you're using sync/burn functionality, there still isn't a benefit. If you're ripping, then perhaps you might encode faster, but that's about it,

    only use a 32 bit anything if your computer is older or has less then 3Gb of ram.
