Hi gang,
I am getting an error message when I open a specific program that "Certain features will not be available because '\Bin\sqlite3.exe' cannot be found.
My OS is Win7 Professional 64-bit and I get this error message when I open a Firefox utility called 'Firemin'. Firemin manages the memory usage (and memory leaks) when Firefox is open. Here is the exact message I get when I click to launch Firemin-
"Unfortunately, the Optimize Firefox option will not be available because the '\Bin\sqlite3.exe' could not be found. Why you assumed it was a good idea to delete it, we will never know."
I have an abstract understanding of what SQLite is, but nothing beyond that. I know that Bookmarks, History, Preferences and cookies (among other items) are all SQLite files in Firefox. 'Optimize Firefox' is a manually launched feature of Firemin that will clean up and reduce the size of some/all of those. I only have only used it in the past when the 'places.sqlite' file in my Firefox profile became very large (as big as 80mb, currently 30mb).
I'm not as concerned about losing the functionality as I am about how/why this file is missing??? My system is only two weeks old (purchased NEW from Dell Business Outlet- Dell Latitude E7440). I have only removed a handful of programs (all Business/Enterprise programs and utilities, primarily from Dell). I removed them using the Windows Programs/Features option in Control Panel or, in a few cases, by using RevoUninstaller. I was very careful about any files or folders that were delete, as well as any registry entries that were deleted or modified.
I just want to know if this is something I can fix and, if not, will it cause any future problems beyond what it is doing now? I restored the system back to Factory Settings and it did not replace 'sqlite3.exe', so I'm at a bit of a loss trying to determine how to proceed.
Thanks in advance for any advice or additional information you can provide. It will be sincerely appreciated.
Thanks again!

A quick search on Google for that file turns up some hits. It looks like it is a database program. When you removed some of those business programs you may have also removed that file. Some program (probably the one you opened and got the error message) is calling for it and no longer finding it.
tijo likes this.
'\Bin\sqlite3.exe' could not be found (Win 7 Pro 64)- should I be concerned?
