How do you move the Users folder to another partition and have win7 recognize it as being there so that all new media goes there?

If you don't know what I'm referring to I'm talking about the Users folder in the main windows installation partition. I want anything I download, photos, documents, all that stuff, to default to a Users folder in my storage partition because my win7 partition is only 20Gb

    Thanks for the help guys

    can't/shouldn't

The users folder is a reserved system folder of the same status as /windows.

But within your download programs there should be configurable items for what folders to use for storing downloads.

You can only move the folders (music, pics, downloads, etc) in the User folder. Go to C drive >Users>yourname> ,right click "My Music" > properties > Location > Move and enter the desired partition.

You can also just add new directories to your libraries. I'm not at my desktop now so I can't tell you exactly how, but you can put multiple folders in your media search list.

if you click on Libraries in explorer, then e.g. Documents, then under the heading Documents Library, click on the link ''Includes: x locations''
there you can organise and add new ones. this a good feature to use as you can leave the default intact and just add your own locations/folders as links
