Ok, I was doing some PDF-Editing and browsing in XP. And all of a sudden I get this BSOD - 0xBE.

Now this bug is confusing really.
Its states here ( http://support.microsoft.com/kb/323371), that the error message is related to failing hardware. (Ran HDD, CPU, RAM diagnostic - no errors | GPU is integrated) - And I don't know what Fault-Tolerant means ?!

I cannot find any faulty drivers (as stated here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms796175.aspx)

And I am confused !! :swoon:

I've got 2 different debuglogs from the same minidump !!

The KB323371 doesn't apply to XP though, it's for 2000 Server.

I found another KB article related to the 0xBE error for XP.

If you have Adobe Flash in your browser, try turning off hardware acceleration. (Right-click a flash move, Settings, and then disable hardware acceleration.)

I see a lot of audio stuff in the stack trace (kmixer, etc.), so it may be audio-related. Check if your sound driver is up-to-date. You may also try uninstalling the sound driver and seeing if audio works with Windows' built-in audio drivers. (This is XP so maybe not... but it may be worth a try.)

Also, if any of your programs have any option for direct audio or hardware-accelerated audio or anything like that, turn it off.

Also, run a memory test... your BIOS may have a mem-tester, or you could download memtest86+.

btw Andy your kb article link doesn't work for me.

stewie, lol @ Qwestdex Dex ;) . Worth checking, I know.

'Link fixed'. Yes, I do have Adobe Flash with H/W acceleration disabled.
Never heard much about KMixer (found some info here). I ran memtest for about 14 hours. I believe the problem might not be H/W related, since I am dual booting Vista 64 and XP 32, and yet to see any errors/BSOD in Vista.
