So I tried it today, because I have XP installation I am going to reinstall anyway.

I went to administrator account in safe mode and followed the instructions.
When I click on minlogon (which is copied in C:\) it attempts to launch DOS terminal and that is: no options to tell yes to. If I leave it like this, then I cannot boot windows anymore (unlesss I change winlogon file to the default one from windows 7 installed on another partition).

    Error message:
Is it common problem or I just did something wrong?

    Few suggestions:

If you apply this after you have installed programs you can try to login as another user first.

    There are two options

    1. If you use your own account login as administrator
    2. If you are logged in as administrator make a dummy user account and login

Now copy \Documents and Settings\your_user\* to \Documents and Settings\Default User\* and then apply this patch. Now you should still have all shortcuts and customizations.

Another, much better option is to apply this patch on a fresh installation before any customizations and program installations are made.

Basically, SYSTEM account == Default User.
