    100mb parition

    when installing win7 and creating a parition it made a primary parition with all space and a little parition with 100mb.. what is that 100mb parition for?

    Its for recovery tools.

    That partition is only created when you use the built-in partitioner in 7.

    loosing 100mb isnt a problem.. aslong as it somehow helps windows :p

    It is better than carrying a windows 7 disk around with you, but will not help if your drive is fubar'd

    Personally, with today's big drives, the convenience exceeds the cost

    ItÂ’s also used for BitLocker. Since this is the standard for Windows partitioning now, might as well just leave it.
