    11 new high priority XP updates today?

    I check Windows Update almost daily and just saw 11 new things today (including the monthly malicious software remover). Anyone else notice this?

    Caught me way off guard. I never see more than 2-3 things.

    MS releases security updates usually on the second Tuesday of each month and rarely out of the wild updates on other days.

    There is really no need to check Windows update almost daily. Most of their updates are released on the second Tuesday of every month (for example today), and if you set your Windows or Microsoft Update to notify you when new updates are available, you will get a balloon notification as soon as they become available. I actually had 13 updates today for my XP computers and nine for my Vista computers.

    I knew that first part - but I check it anyway out of boredom (I need stuff to click while I'm talking online). Never noticed that second Tuesday thing before. Hm.

    I thought Microsoft said that if we upgraded XP to Service Pack 3 we could continue to get updates indefinitely even in the afterlife?
