i just got my new 700m today and promptly reformatted with xp pro to purse all dell software. after installing all the drivers again, i have 2 questions. the first is the safe to remove hardware icon stays in the system tray in the lower rand hand corner becuase i guess it says my dvd writer is a removeable device? is there any way not to have this annoying thing there? the second question is i decided to use the intel pro 2200 for my wireless since it beats the stock windows one hands down. even though i am connected through the intel, the windows one trys to connect and put those yellow pop up boxes informing me of my connection in the system tray. can i delete that icon? (i dont think i can) if you are still reading this crap, thanks.

    as for the wireless...
go in to(run) msconfig and services (tab) and go find Windows zero wireless (at botom) and uncheck it...

you can't get rid of the safety hardware icon, but you can hide thru the taskbar properties.
